Police Hospital was established in 1954 at Arundhatinagar Police complex, Agartala. In 1993 it was shifted to a newly constructed building for the proposed 100 bedded Hospital with both outdoor and indoor facilities.

    Two more District Police Hospitals, one at Dhwajanagar, Udaipur, South Tripura District and another at Kailashahar, North Tripura district have been established with outdoor and emergency services.

    The Police Hospital at Agartala is providing outdoor services, indoor services & emergency services. Police personnel, their families and local residents are getting medical services from the hospital. The hospital is also functioning as referrel center for the police personnel. Preventive health measures like health education on personal hygiene and sanitation, immunization, safe drinking water and health awareness are taught to the police personnel. Medical officers , nursing staff and other paramedical staffs discharge duties, round the clock . Medical officers, apart from performing routine duties, visit different Police camps in remote areas regularly as a part of welfare measure.
