ENFORCEMENT BRANCH
The Enforcement Branch, which had been functioning
since October,1968, under the administrative control of
SP (SB/CID) started functioning as an independent
unit since 15.5.1974.
The present organizational chart of the EB
is as follows:-
The Enforcement Branch is empowered to look
after the following
-
Offences relating to food and other essential
commodities;
-
Offences relating to drug abuse (Narcotic
Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act);
-
Offences relating to adulteration of petroleum
products;
-
Offences relating to hoarding and black
marketing;
-
Trafficking in license and permits etc;
-
Evasion of Sales Tax;
-
Co-operative society fund defalcation
etc ;
