   CRIME

The general law & order situation in the State is  under control. The ethnic tension and ethnic violence,  rampant during the year 2000, has also been brought under control. Violence by non-tribal miscreants has also been brought under control by implementing the provisions of Indian Penal Code &  Criminal Procedure Code only.

Highlights of the comparative crime statistics for the year 2004 to  June 2010 :-

  • Number of warrants pending to be executed  has been reduced by a substantial margin.
  • A large number of non-tribal miscreants has been booked under preventive sections of law to bring ethnically sensitive areas under control.
  • Village Resistance Parties have been raised in large numbers.
  • The mobility of security forces has been increased with the induction of more number of vehicles, man-power and increase of sanctioned strength. All these factors have contributed to  improving the law and order situation.

By booking local hoodlums  under various preventive sections  we have brought them under check . This has helped in controlling various local gangs trying to extort money from construction contractors and businessmen.
